Pool shock, also known as oxidizer, is a
granular pool chemical which destroys organic contaminants, helps balance
water, and prevents odour and eye irritation.
Oxidizing, or “shocking” your pool, simply
refers to the chemical process which helps destroy organic contaminants in the
water. At most times weekly treatment is recommend, however actual requirements
will be dependent on the amount your pool is being used, the frequency of heat
waves, rain showers, wind storms, thunderstorms, etc.
